How we can help promote YOUR company
During the 2011 season we intend to compete in events at venues ranging from Northumberland to Norfolk including the prestigous Rally of the Midlands and the Richard Burns Memorial Rally.
We offer a flexible approach to promoting your organisation. We have six advertising slots available on the car, on which your company name and/or logo can be displayed. Subject to availability these can be taken on an event by event basis or, for the full season. Thus you have the opportunity to support us for the whole campaign, in which case you will have exposure at events throughout the North of England, or to sponsor for only selected events in your local area or areas into which you may want to expand your business.
What will it cost?
This is entirely up to you, it is your money.
Typical costs of running a small rally team such as ours are in the region of £700 per event. This is made up of entry fees, fuel, oil, tyres and accommodation and is in addition to the cost of building and maintaining the car and providing personal protective equipment and insurance.
Your level of support could vary, for example:
Total sponsorship for the season.
Single event sponsorship.
Sponsorship of one or more of the cost segments(e.g. fuel, tyres, accommodation, entry fees)
Your support would be greatly appreciated and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss details with you .
In exchange for your support we offer the following
·Display of your company name/logo on the car and team clothing.
·Pre and post event press releases including sponsors names sent to local press.
(Obviously we can not guarantee publication)
·Your company name or logo displayed on the team website with a link to your own site. The website is regularly updated with team news, results etc.
·Photographs of the car and team for use in promotional material.
·A DVD or Video of the event if available.
·Rally car and crew available for advertising and promotional events, provided that these do not clash with maintenance/preparation schedules and competition events or any other crew commitments and are within a reasonable distance of the team's home location.
·Inclusion of sponsors name on entry lists, where event organisers make provision for this.
·Access to event service area for sponsor party (subject to event regulations)
Stu WilsonRallying – Background information.
Stu Wilson Rallying was conceived in 2003 when Stuart Wilson, after numerous visits to rally school, began the process of converting a standard Vauxhall Nova into a competitive rally car. This project was completed for the 2005 season. 2006 was Stuart's first championship season in which he finished 4th overall in the KENT CAMS ANCC championship and also took the award for 1st in Class in the Multi-use section of the Championship. A new car was built for the 2007 season, unfortunately this suffered major damage on an event and the season ended prematurely. The car was been rebuilt for the 2008 which turned out to be the teams most successful year in competition, Stuart finishing 3rd driver overall and Chris 2nd Navigator in the ANCC Championship, they were also Multi-use Champions and Class winners in the Tarmac section. There was only limited activity in 2009 and 2010, no championships were contested. However notable results were a second in class on the Richard Burns Memorial Rally 2009 and a Class win on the John Overend Memorial in 2010
The Team
Driver – Stuart Wilson
Based at Stamfordham in Northumberland, Stuart is Workshop Foreman for a national waste disposal
company. He has always been a rally enthusiast and attended rally school on numerous occasions before he took the plunge and got involved in competitive rallying. Stuart is a member of both Tynemouth and
District and Hexham Motor Clubs.
Navigator – Steve Darganr
A fellow member of Tynemouth and District Motor Club, Steve has extensive experience of navigating on
clubman rallies and was in the car for the 2010 season.
The Service Crew
Car build and pre-event preparation is carried out by Stuart assisted by Scott Wilkinson, a Vauxhall and
BMW trained technician, and with occasional help from fellow members of Tynemouth and District Motor Club.
Event servicing and support is provided by Tynemouth club members Jonny Gurling and Ian Johnson and
others as available.
PR and Admin support and website maintenance.

The Car
The car is a fully rally prepared Vauxhall Nova 1600cc some details of which are as follows;
Body.
Fully seam welded, strengthening plate kit fitted, full welded in FIA spec roll cage by Protection &
Performance, works type heavy duty sump guard, heavy duty alloy tank guard, lightweight polycarbonate windows, lightweight fibreglass bonnet and tailgate, FIA spec composite Motordrive seats, FIA spec TRS 6
point safety belts, FEV gas discharge plumbed in fire extinguisher, hand held AFFF extinguisher, Peltor intercom system.
Engine.
Vauxhall X16xe 1598cc, Catcams cam shafts, ARP heavy duty big end bolts, twin Dell'orto DHLA 45 carbs,
SBD 4 branch exhaust manifold, modified Harry Hockly Group A stainless steel exhaust system, MBE management system.
Gearbox.
Close ratio Vauxhall F13 fitted with a lower ratio final drive (4.5:1), Tran-X plate type limited slip diff, Helix
ceramic 4 paddle clutch. Gearbox soon to be up rated to a straight cut close ratio Quaife.
Brakes.
Both front and rear brakes are from a Vauxhall Astra GTE 16valve, front fitted with Pagid "blue" competition pads.
Suspension.
Front Bilstein 2.25" adjustable height coil over struts fitted with group A inserts and 250lb springs. Group A top mounts.
Rear Bilstein thick bodied group A shockers with up rated and lowered springs.
Wheels & Tyres
Wheels are various 14" standard Vauxhall alloy rims; tyres are a mix of Michelin, Dunlop and Matador
